Finance & Accounting Report Highlights
● Hong Kong – Companies continue to hire based on a need to meet regulatory changes, as well as anticipating an economic upswing. Those teams that are hiring need vertical industry experience - something forward-looking employers are preparing for now, to ensure they have the right skills in the future.
● Singapore – Organisational and structural changes are impacting hiring, but recruitment budgets remain limited. Key trends include off-shoring of lower level roles, and the movement of professionals from the banking sector into other industries - in line with pay-scales levelling out.
● China – Local experience with global exposure is key for professionals as well as familiarity with the accounting regulations.
● Japan – Globalisation of the finance function is driving change with a focus on general finance, coupled with Japan’s cultural tendencies to recruit ‘mid-career’ and locally.
