Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our global technology team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing and optimizing our database infrastructure to support high-frequency trading, real-time data processing, and large-scale data analytics. This position requires a deep understanding of Oracle database technologies, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Database Management and Maintenance:
o Design, implement, and maintain Oracle databases to ensure high availability, scalability, and reliability.
o Perform installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades of Oracle databases.
o Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure low-latency access for trading systems.
2. Performance Optimization:
o Analyze and optimize SQL queries, database indexes, and table structures to enhance system performance.
o Conduct database tuning to support high-frequency trading and real-time data streams.
o Manage large-scale data processing with minimal downtime.
3. Disaster Recovery and High Availability:
o Develop and implement backup, disaster recovery, and failover strategies using Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and RMAN.
o Ensure 24/7 database availability with robust failover mechanisms.
4. Security and Compliance:
o Implement database security best practices, including data encryption, access control, and auditing.
o Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies for data integrity and security.
5. Automation and Tools Development:
o Automate routine database tasks using Python, Shell scripting, or cloud-based tools.
o Develop monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve database issues.
6. Collaboration and Support:
o Work closely with software engineers, quantitative researchers, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration of database solutions.
o Provide on-call support for critical database issues and incidents.
Job Requirements
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's preferred).
• 5+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA, preferably in a high-performance or financial services environment.
• Expertise in Oracle database technologies, including RAC, Data Guard, and Exadata.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and database optimization techniques.
• Experience with DevOps tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins) and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell).
• Familiarity with real-time data processing tools, such as Kafka or Redis, is a strong plus.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment with high attention to detail.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience in the financial services industry, particularly in high-frequency trading or quantitative research.
• Knowledge of other database systems like MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions
