osition Summary:
The Finance Controller will be responsible for the overall accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance functions of the group. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with deep expertise in media industry dynamics, capable of bridging the gap between creative operations and financial rigor. You will manage a team of accountants and work closely with the CFO to drive profitability analysis and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Operations & Reporting:
Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including month-end close, general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and fixed assets.
Prepare timely and accurate consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS or US GAAP.
Lead the annual external audit process and act as the primary liaison with auditors.
Media-Specific Revenue & Cost Management:
Manage complex revenue recognition issues related to multi-element media contracts (e.g., combining production fees, media buying, and performance incentives).
Monitor WIP (Work-in-Progress) and cost-to-complete for ongoing projects/campaigns to ensure project profitability.
Analyze Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) related to programmatic buying, ad serving, and content licensing.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Lead the annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes, collaborating with department heads (Creative, Sales, Production).
Provide variance analysis between actual results and budgets, identifying trends and risks.
Internal Controls & Compliance:
Establish and maintain robust internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements.
Team Leadership:
Mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA, ACCA, or equivalent certification is required.

10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
Must have at least 5 years of direct experience within the Media, Advertising, Digital Marketing, or Internet industry.
Prior experience in a Fund Finance or Big 4 audit background is a plus.
Technical Skills:
Expert knowledge of IFRS/US GAAP, specifically ASC 606 / IFRS 15 (Revenue from Contracts with Customers).
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
Familiarity with project management tools and ad-tech platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, DV360) is advantageous.
Soft Skills:
Strong business partnering skills with the ability to communicate financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Fluency in English and Mandarin (if applicable).
