General Description:
The goal of this position is to lead the implementation of and continuous improvement of the BeOne compliance programs, such as Pre-payment Review Program. This role will primarily focus on project execution, quality management, applying industry best practices to strengthen internal controls and drive daily business compliance behaviors.
Essential Functions of the job:
Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the compliance pre-payment review program with vendor support. The program provides for daily review of speaker program expenses and Grants, Sponsorships, Donations, and Collaborations (GSDC) milestone payment requests prior to Finance processing payment. Key roles and responsibilities include:
Control process enhancement:
Revisit and update the control process, checkpoints, and systems on a regular basis, benchmarking against industry best practices.
Define checkpoints and inspection criteria in alignment with updated policies and guidelines.
Provide training to vendors on updated compliance policies and associated requirements.
Oversight of daily pre-payment review process:
Supervise vendors conduct pre-payment reviews following a standardized, aligned process and predefined check points; assess and approve or reject claims; follow up on reviews; and respond to supplementary documents submitted by employees to clarify potential KPI-related issues in rejected claims.
Manage escalations and report serious behavioral issues to the Investigation Team.
Oversee compliance-related KPI results generated from the pre-payment review process.
Implement AI-driven solutions to improve review efficiency and effectiveness.
Training:
Provide regular training to business teams on pre-payment requirements, processes, and case studies.
Budget and Reporting:
Support budget review and approval, vendor contract management, and monthly billing management.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on reporting to Business Units (BUs) and Leadership Teams, focusing on behavioral trends and improvement actions.
Implement/support and work for continuous improvement for the China Compliance Program to ensure business practices compliance with policies and requirements. Support Country Compliance Head for any ad-hoc assignments
Other Qualifications:
Minimum of 10-12 years’ experience in international Healthcare Finance or Compliance position in the life sciences/pharma industry; Experience with “Big-4” is preferred.
Strong finance internal control techniques and compliance sense or experience.
Ability to work well both independently and partner with other Compliance workstreams.
Excellent judgment, influencing skills and leadership abilities in working with different stakeholders.
Excellent oral and written communication, analytical, organizational, and strategic thinking skills.
Demonstrate flexibility, open-mindedness, and adaptability to a rapidly changing environment.
Vendor / project management experience.
