What to prepare the day before your interview

If you only have 24 hours until your job interview, here's the four top things you should research and prepare.

As a recruiter, I consistently interview with many candidates, and recommend some of them to our clients. Many succeeded in getting the offers but others failed. The rule is ''chance favors the well-prepared mind.’ But to what extent can it be regarded as well-prepared? Please prepare yourself 24 hours before interview, and that is enough.

Research

(1) On Company

Generally speaking, you can find official information about the history, structure, activities, and core business on the company’s website. This will also can help you to understand the market size, competitors, reputation, tendency, etc.

It is even better if you can contact the employees of the company beforehand, thereby helping you to find additional information, like corporate philosophy, work regulation, dress code and leadership, etc.

(2) On People

Interviewer and management team are the people you want to focus on.

The more you know about the interviewer and their colleagues, the better you understand the company’s culture and interviewer’s taste.

(3) Presentation

One should dress professionally and appropriately according to the position. For example, if you are applying for a management consulting firm position, wearing a suit is necessary. If it is a fashion industry or entertainment industry, business attire with a few creation would be more preferred. If in doubt, it is always a good idea to wear something that fits company's culture.
