Our client is a leading consumer brand
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail accounting, tax compliance, and financial reporting, with prior experience in setting up new entities and managing mid-to-large-sized teams. This role will oversee all accounting operations, ensure tax efficiency, and drive process improvements to support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Oversee all accounting functions, including GL, AP/AR, inventory accounting, and payroll, ensuring compliance with local and international standards (IFRS/GAAP).
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, delivering accurate and timely financial statements.
- Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Manage retail-specific accounting processes, such as revenue recognition, cost of goods sold (COGS), and store-level profitability analysis.
Tax Strategy & Compliance
- Direct tax planning, compliance, and reporting for corporate income tax, VAT/GST, transfer pricing, and other relevant taxes.
- Ensure adherence to local and international tax regulations, minimizing risks and optimizing tax efficiency.
Business Partnership & Projects
- Support retail expansion projects, including new market entry, store openings, or M&A activities.
- Provide strategic insights to senior management through financial analysis and KPIs.
- Partner with retail operations to optimize inventory management, pricing strategies, and cost controls.
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Experience*
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA/ACCA/CMA preferred.
Experience
- 10+ years of progressive accounting/tax experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Retail industry experience is mandatory** (e.g., fashion, FMCG, e-commerce, omnichannel).
Proven track record in setting up new legal entities and managing multi-country tax compliance.
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
Strong leadership, analytical mindset, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
