We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Head of Accounting to take full ownership of the accounting, reporting, internal control, and treasury/tax functions for our organization. This leadership role is critical in ensuring the integrity of financial data, driving compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader, managing a sizeable team and serving as a key partner to the Global CFO.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Operations: Oversee the entire accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets. Ensure the timely and accurate closing of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts in compliance with relevant GAAP (e.g., US GAAP, IFRS).
Financial Reporting: Lead the preparation and delivery of all internal and external financial reports, including management accounts, board packs, and statutory financial statements. Ensure reporting is accurate, timely, and insightful.
Internal Controls: Develop, implement, and maintain a robust internal control framework to safeguard company assets, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
Tax & Treasury: Manage all aspects of tax planning, compliance, and reporting (including corporate income tax, VAT/GST, and transfer pricing). Oversee cash flow forecasting, treasury operations, and banking relationships.
Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a sizeable and high-performing accounting team. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, professional growth, and collaboration.
Process Improvement: Continuously identify and implement process improvements and system enhancements to streamline accounting operations, improve efficiency, and enhance the quality of financial information.
Stakeholder Management: Act as a key point of contact for external auditors, tax authorities, and other stakeholders. Liaise effectively with senior management and the Global CFO on all accounting and control matters.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA, CA, or equivalent professional qualification is mandatory.
Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with a proven track record in a senior leadership role.
Must possess a combined background including experience at a major public accounting firm ("Big 4" preferred) and substantial experience within a corporate accounting environment.
Deep technical expertise in accounting principles (US GAAP/IFRS), financial reporting, internal controls, and tax regulations.
Demonstrated experience in managing a large, complex accounting function and leading a sizeable team.
Fluency in English is essential, with excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with global stakeholders.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities.
