One multinational bank is looking for a ops role based in Shanghai.

The PPTS department is within the first line of defense under the COO Office in Asia and contributes to the success of Santander Asia through a group of knowledgeable professionals that manage the branch operational process and monitor any risks or controls, enabling the achievement of strategic objectives and supporting the Santander Asia corporate goals within an agreed risk appetite.
• The incumbent is required to manage the processing of day to day operational activities and regulatory reporting to ensure all bank and regulatory requirements and objectives are fulfilled during pre-transaction validation and post-transaction monitoring and regulatory reports handling processes.
• This role is responsible for processes being followed and that teams are facilitated collaboratively to continuously improve these processes, and also includes supporting the production planning process and ensure key performance indicators (KPIs) are in place and production targets are met.

Responsibilities:
 Ensure day to day transactions/reports are executed accurately and timely
 Ensure day to day transaction processes are compliant with internal and external regulations/policies/procedures
 Perform related risk and control assessment as well as regulatory self-assessment on request
 Perform reconciliation and Monitor/follow up abnormal deals
 Provide support to projects, new products, BAU changes and procedures update/creation in relation to Operations
 Keep good communication/daily track with related stakeholders including but not limit to outsourcing counterparties, other counterparties within Beijing and Shanghai branch
 Provide client service on Operations related matters to internal and external clients
 Supervise the handling processing of incoming and outgoing enquiries, instructions, physical documents with clients to fulfil the services level standard
 Support and participate in external/internal audit
 Backup other Operations functions
 Assist in ad-hoc tasks as assigned

Job Requirements

 8+ years experiences in financial/banking operation function, preferably across multiple banking businesses of Account management, Loan Business, and familiar with the regulatory requirements.
 Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements for operational process and reporting
 Good communication skills in both English and Chinese
 Knowledge in operational risk framework and regulatory controls
 Good team player, support the cross-function back-up plan
 Cooperative, disciplined, open-minded with capacity to learn
 Attention to details and ability to change
