Durham Business School Career Event

Last Saturday, I attended the "Alumni Career Event" organized by Durham University with three colleagues.

Hosted in Shanghai, attendees of this conference included a number of delegates coming from world's well-known multinational companies and more than 70 alumni graduating from the Business School of Durham University. Morgan McKinley is the only recruitment company which has the honour to be invited to the conference. One delegate of Morgan McKinley, Ms. Cheryl Ong, who is the Associate Director of the company, was invited to make a speech at the conference. Ms. Ong shared with senior executives of international companies the current career development situation for Chinese business managers, skills and qualities required for being a manager as well as how to find a job in China's management industry. She also had a great conversation with some Durham alumni and discussed with them a wide range of topics.

We would like to express our wholehearted thanks to Durham University, for their contributions of providing such a great platform, which enabled us to meet so many outstanding alumni. By having face-to-face communications and discussions with them, we had effectively shared with each other our views and opinions on many topics. I have learned a lot through my conversations with Durham alumni. I also discovered, quite surprisingly, that some of them had been candidates that I had contacted before, while others might well be amongst our candidates in the future. As headhunters, it is necessary for us to leave the office to attend more social activities like this.
