The transformation of the Human Resources (HR) department from a support team into an enabling function has seen the HR market continue to grow despite a slowdown in China’s economy. More companies have begun the conversion from an HR generic team into three specialised functions; HR business partner, centre of excellence and a shared service centre. The restructuring in this function has increased demand for new investment headcount, and to upgrade existing HR personnel, from generalists to specialists.
 
HR business partners, those in talent development and total rewards, as well as HR heads for the Internet and high tech industries, are most in demand.
